In an effort to best accommodate our middle and high school students while maintaining proper health protocols this Fall semester, CSUMC youth will be divided into two groups on Wednesday nights: middle school and high school.

Wednesday Night Programming

With respect to CSISD’s start date, Wednesday youth services at CSUMC will resume on September 2, 2020. Programming will look much different this Fall. No longer will youth services be a combined middle and high school service. Instead, middle school will meet from 5:00PM-6:30PM while high school will meet from 6:30PM-8:00PM. We will no longer be serving dinner to students and families but students can expect to have light, prepackaged refreshments.

Middle School

Students in middle school will meet from 5:00PM-6:30PM. Similar to our regular programming, there will be time for refreshments, indoor and outdoor games, worship, and small groups led by our student leaders. In an effort to maintain proper health protocols, middle school students should not meet at or around CSUMC until 5:00PM. Parents can count on picking their students up from service no later than 6:30PM. In the event a middle school student has a sibling in high school, they may not stay through the high school service.

High School

Students in high school will meet from 6:30PM-8:00PM. Similar to our regular programming, there will be time for refreshments, indoor and outdoor games, worship, and small groups led by our student leaders. In an effort to maintain proper health protocols, high school students should not meet at or around CSUMC until 6:30PM. High school students should remain in their vehicles or properly distanced until all middle school students are dismissed. High school students should not gather outside the youth building before or after service. Parents can count on picking their students up from service no later than 8:00PM.

6:30PM Dismissal

Middle school students will be dismissed from youth service at 6:30PM. In an effort to accommodate a smooth transition between middle and high school students, no high school student will enter the youth building until all middle school students are dismissed. It is encouraged for high school students to remain in their vehicles until the youth building is open to receive them rather than gathering outside the church.

Face Coverings

Face coverings are required at CSUMC. If students are enjoying refreshments, they may remove their face covering but must keep a healthy distance from others. Refreshments will have a designated time at the beginning of each service so that we might minimize the risk associated with not wearing a face covering.

Holiday Programming

The youth of CSUMC have many holiday traditions such as Trunk n’ Treat, Santa’s Workshop, an annual progressive dinner, and fall and winter fundraising. It is not clear at the moment how we might continue these valued traditions but be assured we will keep the health and safety of our students our top priority. We pray that we might be able to continue these traditions in 2020 and we will announce our intentions for these events as soon as possible to best accommodate our students and families.
